What PDF Attachments does
PDF Attachments lists the files embedded inside a PDF and lets you add new ones or remove existing ones, with removal deleting the file’s data from the document entirely.
A PDF can carry other files tucked inside it — a spreadsheet behind an invoice, the source data behind a chart, a set of photos with a report. They travel with the document and most readers never notice them, which is convenient when you mean it and a quiet liability when you don’t: a file you attached and forgot is still in there, and still openable by anyone with the PDF.
This tool shows you exactly what is embedded, with each file’s size, and lets you add more or take them out. Removing one is a true removal — the file’s data stream is deleted from the document, not just hidden from the list — so a sensitive attachment is genuinely gone from the copy you download. Everything happens in your browser; nothing about the document or its attachments is uploaded.
How to use PDF Attachments
Upload the PDF
Drop in your file. Any embedded files are listed with their sizes.
Add or remove files
Click “Add a file” to embed anything from your device, or “Remove” next to an attachment to take it out completely.
Download the result
Click Download PDF to save a copy with your changes. Your original file is left untouched.
PDF Attachments: details and limits
Removing an attachment deletes its underlying data stream from the document, so the bytes are actually gone from the downloaded file — not merely unlinked while still sitting inside it.
Attachments are embedded files, which is different from the pages you see. Adding or removing them never changes the pages, text or layout of the PDF itself.
Any file type can be embedded — a spreadsheet, an image, a zip, another PDF. It rides inside the document and can be opened by readers that support attachments, such as Acrobat.
Your original file is never modified; only the copy you download carries the additions or removals.
A password-protected PDF must be unlocked first. A permission-restricted one is decrypted as it is saved, like the other editing tools here.
